Helen Dilley Barsalou

Helen Dilley Barsalou presents a collection of her recent paintings. Most are watercolor or acrylic. Some are watercolor/collage. For this technique she purchases a variety of textured rice papers, usually white. She then paints them with different gradations of many colors, allows them to dry and, when needed for a picture she tears them apart and glues them in place. She finds the most satisfaction in creating a mood or a special feeling in her work. Having grown up in South Dakota she especially likes to create a feeling of vast distance. Her paintings have been chosen for numerous national and regional exhibits and have been collected and displayed across the country. The variety in her work has made her paintings especially attattractive. She has taught watercolor to adults for many years. She lives and paints in Annandale, Virginia.
